Creating a set of Best Practices for Optimal Performance

    • A customer had a set of campaigns (13) that run repeatedly and wanted to apply a set of best practices to ensure optimal performance.  Also, they were looking for any suggestions for performance improvement.
    • Cross Campaign Analysis Reports developed by Argos, identify query patterns that are common between campaigns.  The performance of these common patterns are analyzed, and the details for any pattern may be viewed by the campaign(s) where it is used with the built-in "drill down” feature.
    • Results: At the customer site, the following patterns were identified:
      • Improper use of Segment processes (possible improvement (ps) of 50%)
      • Configuration of ODBC (ps of 4 times)
      • Use of RAM for AC (ps of 3 times)
      • Configuration of Snapshot / Contact (ps of 10 times)
    • Benefits: Pattern analysis identifies and prioritizes those query patterns that impact performance.  This allows the organization to pinpoint areas of poor performance that would most benefit from an optimization effort.  From this effort, a set of best practices can be developed to apply to all campaigns.
